I was born and raised in South Korea and moved to Canada with my family in 2002. Since I was young, I was exposed to art because of my mom. She says that the only time I would sit in one place and concentrate was when I was drawing or painting.
I was lucky to be able to go to school for Art and Design at the University of Alberta. I graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Design. In 2016, I decided to take a painting class at the University of Alberta Faculty of Extension, where I found my passion and the technique I use to create my art!
I adopted this technique hoping to let go of control and allow things to happen. I use acrylic, gel medium and different mixed medium, depending on the piece.
Vibrant colors inspire me and the balance of the composition is important to me.
I would love for my art to stir up memories and/or emotions. It is special when different people see and feel different things while looking at my paintings.
